Band

13 Years and Counting

Zen Carnival was born in 1997 in Boston when Bill Denison joined forces with other remaining members of a precursor band. The first complete lineup of Bill Denison, Chris Geihe, Jeff Park, Ken Pfeifer, and Michael James (with backup support from David McNally) performed steadily in the Boston area from 1997-1999. This lineup recorded the album Inheritance, released in December 1999.

Career and family moves in 2000 split members between Boston and New York, although close ties remained among Denison, James and Pfeifer. This ongoing collaboration, along with new member Carl Puglisi, led to the release of Bardo in June 2006.

The band is currently recording their third album with new member Chris Paglia, exploring the kinds of new ideas that new friends inspire.

Bill Denison: guitar, vocals, occasional keyboards, production
Michael James: keyboards
Chris Paglia: bass
Ken Pfeifer: lead vocals, occasional keyboards
Carl Puglisi: drums, percussion
Bridget Murphy Zawilinski: vocals
