2011 Studio Upgrade

Over the years, Bill Denison's studio has undergone two major upgrades as computer based recording and processing have evolved.

The top of 2011 brings us the new AWS 948 console - a new 24 track in-line analogue audio console with digital audio workstation controlling capabilities, manufactured by Solid State Logic, the industry leader in this field.

"Even though it's all about the music for us, we have grown into the technology to the point at which we have professional recording quality at our fingertips. Our DIY approach is very important to us, and each new studio development helps us to keep moving forward with each new release.

"I've been looking to move away from mixing in the box for some time, and my previous studio configuration wasn't very efficient or as pristine as desired. After a long search for the proper board, I am very excited to integrate the SSL AWS 948 into my project studio, as it offers not only the coveted SSL punch and clarity, but in-line and stem workflow configurations that suit our purposes very well. Also, the DAW controller capabilities will be a super new way of working for me as we enter the recording phase of our third album."
